Manufactured to custom sizes as required. Prevents grease and solids entering sewer pipes in commercial kitchens and food prep areas. Includes removable cap for cleaning waste blockages.
The BRITEX Grease Interceptor is manufactured from 1.2mm grade 304 stainless steel. This unit is generally used in commercial kitchens and food preparation areas to prevent grease and oils entering sewer pipes. The baffle near the inlet slows the flow of water entering the tank, causing the water to cool. Water separation then occurs where heavy solids (grease) sinks to the bottom of the tank and oils to float to the top, whilst clean water exits through the outlet positioned at the back of the tank. Collected waste is periodically cleaned from the tank by removing the lid that is secured by quick release clips. A cap on the top of the outlet pipe can be removed to dislodge any solids or blockages should they occur. Available in custom and standard sizes as required.

Q: Why do we need Trade Waste Tanks?
A: Trade Waste Tanks are used to allow contaminants to be contained and cleaner water to pass through to sewerage systems. Trade Waste Tanks have been implemented by Water Authorities to regulate the quality of trade waste water.
Q: What Is Trade Waste?
A: Trade waste refers to all liquid waste that is discharged into the sewer system from commercial, industrial, laboratory or trade activities. Contaminants may include grease, fat, oil, silt, sand, sludge, chemicals, soil, paint, clay, fats or detergents and other substances from activities such as in food preparation areas or as a result of any washing, cleaning or rinsing process.
Q: Can tanks be customised?
A: All trade waste tanks must follow strict design criteria, so while Britex have the capacity to manufacture these to custom dimensions written approval from the local trade water authorities must be obtained before production.
Q: How often should I clean the unit?
A: Maintenance will depend on usage. An arrestor used daily with high volumes of clay will require more frequent cleaning.
Q: How do I empty the unit?
A: Contaminants collected by trade waste tanks may need to be periodically cleaned out by an EPA licensed waste transporter. Industrial waste from your business can harm the environment if you don’t manage it the right way. Please refer to your state’s EPA for advice on how to manage industrial waste.
