Prahran Square Cato Street Car Park Amenities
Britex was recently given the opportunity to work with the City of Stonnington on their $60 million Prahran Square Car Park Redevelopment.
Located just five kilometres south-east of Central Melbourne between the suburbs of South Yarra and Windsor, Prahran has long been renowned for its shopping, bars, eateries and nightclubs. This bustling inner suburb is located within the City of Stonnington, which has the second lowest amount of open space per capita in Victoria.
To create more open space for the Council’s increasing population, the City of Stonnington fully funded the redevelopment of the original Cato Street Car Park, transforming the space into an open air plaza and urban garden, with two levels of underground parking.
This is one of the largest and most exciting construction projects ever delivered in the City of Stonnington, and Prahran Square is set to become an iconic cultural and recreational destination for the community, providing an urgently needed open space for recreation, events, festivals and markets.
It incorporates a 9000 sq m park featuring a water feature and public art, public plaza, cafes, outdoor seating areas, 500 space multi-level underground car park and public amenities.
The public amenities include a number of Britex Stainless Steel fittings and fixtures, including:
This wall faced, floor mounted stainless steel toilet pan is seamless, fully shrouded and manufactured from heavy gauge grade 304 satin stainless steel. It is easy to clean and provides optimal strength, with radius edges for added safety. The Centurion Toilet Pan also features a pressed internal bowl and unique trap design, making it extremely water efficient and less susceptible to blockages in public amenities.
Our Centurion Ambulant Toilet Pan is designed to conform to Australian Standard, Design for Access and Mobility - AS1428, with respect to ambulant users. Access panels come standard on both sides of the pan, and it features concealed fixings as well as safety radius front edges. It is free of ligature points, and comes with a unique blockage resistant trap.
These in wall cisterns are ideal for pairing with any vandal resistant Britex wall-faced toilet pan. It is a great flushing option for in-wall, in-duct or in-ceiling installation, and all serviceable parts on the cistern are accessible through the service panel on the tank itself. For disabled access installations, an actuator plate with raised buttons can be supplied in accordance with AS1428.
Required for accessible toilets, this premium quality stainless steel backrest conforms to the requirements of AS1428.1-2009. There is a choice of a white Polyurethane back pad, or, for maximum vandal resistance, a curved stainless steel back plate. It also comes with optional rear grab rails, and mounting brackets incorporate concealed fixings.
Fully hand made, this double-skinned stainless steel wash basin is both functional and robust. It comes with a larger back landing to meet AS1428.1 shelf requirement, and the back landing is available to the left or right. The basin is designed to be wall mounted, and is supplied with a 40mm waste outlet, with optional tapware and bottle trap.
